Jas Sekhon
Eugene Meyer Professor of Political Science and Statistics & Data Science
Jasjeet Sekhon is Professor of Statistics & Data Science and Professor of Political Science. As Chief Scientist and Head of AI/ML at Bridgewater Associates, he brings extensive industry experience to his academic work. His research spans causal inference, machine learning, and experimental design, with applications in political science, economics, and epidemiology. Currently, his work focuses on developing and deploying AI systems in biomedical and social decision settings, addressing AI risk, and creating interpretable methods for finding and estimating causal relationships.
He came to Yale from UC Berkeley, where he was the Robson Professor of Political Science and Statistics. Before Berkeley, he was an associate professor at Harvard University. He earned his Ph.D. at Cornell University and his undergraduate degree from the University of British Columbia in Canada.
