Jessi Cisewski-Kehe was co-organizer and participant at DM-STAT: Statistical Challenges in the Search for Dark Matter. For five days in February/March of 2018 Professor Jessi Cisewski-Kehe joined a group of statisticians, particle physicists, and astronomers to discuss the statistical challenges associated with the search for dark matter at the Banff International Research Station (BIRS). The workshop was organized by Aaron Vincent (Queen’s University), Roberto Ruiz de Austri Bazan (University of Valencia), Gianfranco Bertone (University of Amsterdam), and Cisewski-Kehe. For a simple introduction to statistical challenges in dark matter, see Cisewski-Kehe’s article “Revealing the invisible” in the December 2014 special issue of Significance Magazine on “Life, the universe, and everything.”
