Professor Lu Receives Three Grants for AI in Biomedicine, Energy, and Fire Safety
S&DS Assistant Professor Lu Lu
Professor Lu Lu received three new research grants this summer: a grant from NSF DMS as the Lead to develop an AI-enhanced multiphysics and multiscale framework for mechanistic modeling of erythrophagocytosis, in collaboration with He Li (UGA), Aleksander Popel (JHU), and Dennis Discher (Penn); a grant from ExxonMobil to develop AI models for predicting hydraulic fracture propagation in unconventional reservoirs; and a generous gift from Factory Mutual Insurance Company to develop scientific machine learning models for fire modeling.
